The San Diego Music Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1991, and has worked diligently to uplift the music community within San Diego County. SDMF focuses its efforts on three continuing, annual programs:
Taylor Guitars for Schools - Our year round effort to place guitars into San Diego Elementary Schools.
San Diego Music Awards - The annual Awards show has raised over $500,000 since its inception in 1991. These funds have been used to assist Handicapped Teen Centers, to fund arts programs within the San Diego Unified School District and to fund the placement of music equipment into schools within San Diego County.

North by North Park - The North by North Park Music Conference is a one day music event, which will debut on August 2, 2008. Starting at 10am, all conference registrants will learn about the music business during panel discussions,workshops and demo review sessions. NXNP will feature speakers who have been involved in local, regional, and national music. Following the workshops, NXNP will showcase over 100 musical acts from Southern California, in 14 venues in San Diego, California.
In addition, SDMF has been the recipient of funding from events including the CityBeat Festival of Beers, Too Kool for Karaoke, and the upcoming Southern Comfort Music Experience (on August 23, 2008). |
